Dr. Marie Walcott’s Approach
Dr. Walcott’s approach includes treating the whole patient, not just an x-ray or MRI. She strives to make every patient feel heard and to understand what activities are important to their lifestyle. Dr. Walcott will review your symptoms, discuss your treatment options, and communicate all the steps in the chosen treatment plan as well as expectations during the recovery process. Dr. Walcott cares about you as a person and not just a patient. She customizes care and provides patients with the best possible outcomes after surgery or non-operative treatments. By performing a diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound in her office, she can quickly detect and treat many sources of shoulder pain more quickly than waiting for an MRI.
As an Assistant Professor at Tufts Medical School, Dr. Walcott actively engages with medical students and residents, imparting invaluable surgical knowledge, fostering clinical skills, and nurturing a culture of collaborative learning within the orthopedic department.
Dr. Walcott is passionate about musculoskeletal health having been a competitive collegiate and recreational rower since high school. Dr. Walcott is widely known for her care, compassion, and thoroughness in treating her patients because she is able to understand their points of view.
